Vawdon Cup is a weekly representative competition conducted by NSW Touch Association. With teams representing affiliates such as Penrith, Parramatta, Cronulla, Easts, Wollongong and Central Coast as well as everywhere in between, Vawdon Cup puts you up against some of the best players in the state. 

Games are played throughout the Sydney Metropolitan area catering for Open, Senior and Youth divisions. The competition normally has 8-10 rounds and a final series. 

Games are played weekly on a Friday night with the occasional Sunday double header. 

The competition is however still split into skill-based divisions so even a beginner has a place to get started. Manly Touch has fully accredited coaches in charge of each squad which will help improve your knowledge and skills. Trials and training usually commence in July.

Players must be a minimum of 16 years of age to play in the Opens Divisions and must be between 13 to 17 years of age to play Youth League.

Manly Touch are always very well represented at Vawdon Cup with both Men’s Premier League and Women’s Premier League; Men’s and Women’s Divisional teams; and more recently Girls Youth League teams all participating.

The current Vawdon Cup 2024 competition dates are as follows:
Week 1: Friday, October 11*
Week 2: Friday, October 18*
Week 3: Friday, October 25
Week 4: Friday, November 1
Week 5: Sunday, November 3
Semi Final 1: Friday, November 8
Semi Final 2: Sunday, November 10
Grand Final: Sunday, November 17
*Round 1 will see 50% of divisions have a double header, with the remainder having their double header in Round 2.
*There will be one triple header on a Sunday round

Trials will be announced on this website and our social channels. We anticipate trials will commence in late July with open training sessions the likely format.

Player Eligibility

There are some age restrictions in regards eligibility to certain teams, as follows:
> Men’s & Women’s Open teams, which includes Premier League & Divisions 1 – 4 ~ Must be born in 2008 or before
> Boy’s & Girl’s Youth League teams ~ Must be born between 2007 and 2011

All players wishing to trial for a Manly Touch Vawdon Cup team must be registered in the 2024 Autumn Competition that is currently underway OR have played in the 2023/2024 Senior Summer Competition.
