Deciding on our Junior Club Captains is probably the most difficult decision the Executive Committee has to make because of the quality of the nominees. We have some outstanding young people in our club who are all worthy of this award.
Being named a Junior Club Captain is one of the highest honours that can be bestowed upon a member and is recognition of:
- playing service with the club
- coaching and refereeing in our junior and senior competitions
- higher representative honours
- off field service and participation at a grassroots level
- being involved in all facets of the club
But overall, they are representative of what Manly Touch is all about.
Manly Touch is proud to announce our 2021 Junior Club Captains – Cuban Porter Sheen and Sabrina Zochling. Congratulations to you both!

COVID-19 Update & Manly Touch Safety Protocols
Our community sporting activity involves more than 100 participants, therefore Manly Touch has a COVID-19 Safety Plan in place.
Manly Touch is also registered as a Covid Safe Business.
Once again it is important that we comply with our Covid-19 safety protocols. Please keep the following key elements of our Safety Plan in mind.
Well-Being of Members
- If you are unwell, please do not attend and you must seek medical clearance before returning
Arrive-Play-Leave
- Arrive ready to play and head straight to your field no more than 10 mins prior to the game
- Players and spectators must vacate playing fields immediately after your game
- There are to be no post-game debriefs
Physical Distancing
- Social distancing measures are always to be maintained – 1 person per 2 sq. metres.
- More than one parent/spectator per player may attend but physical distancing of at least 1.5 metres must be maintained between people that are not from the same household.
- There is to be NO congregation around our Clubhouse.
- There will be NO sign on sheets at our Clubhouse
- Player attendance will be recorded at your field by the Referee
Hygiene & Cleaning
- Please bring and use your own hand sanitiser
- Sanitising stations are located near our Clubhouse
- NO pre/post-game handshakes
Record Keeping
- All players must have their attendance recorded by our referees at the fields. This is not just because of Covid-19 requirements but for insurance and for both local competition finals and representative eligibility reasons
- All spectators and where possible players must record their attendance by using the Service NSW App and scanning our QR Code provided on each Field Flag, at a number of locations around the Clubhouse and copied below
If you have any queries or questions or would like more information, please contact Lara Long, MWTA Administration Manager via [email protected].

Kerri McLeod is a Life Member of Manly Touch. Amongst numerous roles across the club, Kerri has coached our representative U10 Junior Girls teams attending Junior State Cups and interclub Gala Days spanning an amazing 15 years.
Kerri has literally introduced touch football to hundreds of Manly Touch girls through trials, social competitions and representative touch – many of whom have gone on to reach the highest levels of touch football. Kerri almost has celebrity status amongst hundreds of families who will rightly claim that the impact of Kerri’s coaching, the nurturing of their girls and encouraging fun at all times, has resulted in lifetime memories, life skills and lifelong friendships for the players and families. Unlike many sports celebrities, however, Kerri is also incredibly humble and the first to acknowledge others, not herself.
After so many voluntary years on the Junior State Cup circuit, Kerri has decided that the time is right to step away from JSC coaching. Kerri we cannot thank you enough for everything that you have done for our Junior Girls and our club. Thank you.
We also warmly acknowledge Kerri’s fantastic partner in crime, Scott McLeod. “Manager extraordinaire”, “a fantastic communicator” and “nothing is ever an issue” are comments that families share about Scott. Most definitely a key contributor to this gun coaching group and sincere thanks to Scott for all that you have done for so many of our members, players and touch families.
We must also publicly acknowledge another secret to the success of this close-knit coaching crew and thank Brittney McLeod and Tina Clancy. Balancing their own touch commitments, personal commitments, attending training, patiently teaching the fundamentals of touch football, smiling and providing such a special role model figure for so many girls has been a huge ask. Like Kerri and Scott, they have done this for the love of what they do, volunteering their time and expertise to so many. Thank you, Britt and Tina, for positively impacting so many members of our Manly Touch community via your coaching.
You all leave a legacy that is unlike any other and we etch this into our Manly Touch history forever:
- Semi-finalists 4 times
- Grand finalists 11 times
- Junior State Cup Premiers 5 times
On behalf of Manly Touch and the hundreds of players and families you have supported, and indeed our entire Manly Touch membership, sincere thanks and gratitude Kerri, Scott, Britt and Tina for coaching the last 15 years.
Best Wishes,
Manly Touch Executive Committee: Ian, Stu, Mel, Elizabeth & Kate
and Junior Representative Director: Lowie

FIXTURES:
The draw for this week’s final round of the Junior Summer Competition is now available on the website under the FIXTURES & RESULTS menu item. Please note that there is a Grand Final fixture for the teams placed first and second in each grade, whilst all other teams will play in our Play Off fixture.
ADDITIONAL GAMES NOT YET ON PUBLISHED FIXTURES:
As some grades have BYES we have done everything we can to ensure all teams have a game in this last round of our junior competition, which has meant some teams needing to play twice or teams playing outside their own pool. Please see below for additional game information (this will be published to the draw shortly) –
- 11/12/20 16:50 – Team Titans U7B Black vs Seaforth Stingrays U7B White – Passmore 4B
- 11/12/20 18:50 – Champions U9BB Blue vs Bears U9BB Black – Passmore 4A

DRAWN GAMES:
As we are still operating under the current Public Health Order we continue to be limited to 25-minute games with no allowance for overtime. Therefore, at the conclusion of our final round matches if the score is tied the team that is ranked #1 on the competition ladder going into the Grand Final round will be awarded the win.
U7 MATCHES:
The games played by our U7 teams are not Grand Finals, they are just for fun. All our U7 players will receive a medal at the conclusion of their games.
PRESENTATION:
Due to COVID restrictions, there will be no presentations this year, however, we ask both Grand Final teams to come to the front of the Southern Amenity clubhouse for a quick photo and to collect their trophies at the conclusion of their match.
PARENT/GUARDIAN:
Manly Touch is pleased to advise that one parent/guardian per child may attend the final round of matches this week but as we are still operating under the current Public Health Order and COVID Safety Plan we cannot exceed 500 persons in a hub at one time. The Kiss & Drop will still be in operation so if your team wishes to continue with limited parent/guardian’s attending they will be able to do so.
We implore all those attending the final round of matches to review and adhere to our COVID safety protocols below:
Social Distancing –
- Social distancing measures are always to be maintained – 1 person per 4 sq. metres.
- Parents do not stand next to each other on the sidelines – remain 1.5m from each other.
- Remain 5m away from the playing area and preferably at the end of the fields.
- No congregation around our Clubhouses.
Arrive-Play-Leave –
- Arrive via your correct Hub, ready to play and head straight to your field no more than 5 mins prior to the game.
- Players and spectators must vacate playing fields immediately after their game.
- There are to be no pre-game warmups or post-game debriefs.
Hygiene & Cleaning –- Sanitising stations are located at the Ground Manager Desks and between hubs.
Record Keeping –
- All parents must sign in using the QR codes provided at each Hub.
- The onsite Manager/Contact for each team is to record all players in attendance for their team game via the QR codes.
Hub Swapping –
- Do not cross hubs, go directly to your field.
- If players are playing in multiple hubs, they must change their playing shirts, sanitise their hands at the stations before moving into the new Hub.
- If parents need to move between Hubs they must sign into the new Hub using the QR codes provided.
- Players (and parents) cannot move between Hubs just to watch their friends or siblings play.
