    AS AT 13TH JUNE 2020

Currently in NSW all sports are under the Public Health (COVID-19 Restrictions on Gathering and Movement) Order (No 3) 2020 as issued on 1 June 2020.

The NSW Government announced further easing of restrictions from Saturday 13 June including the number of people allowed to gather outdoors increased from 10 to 20. This announcement enables us to expand to groups of 20 for non-contact training activities, maintaining physical distancing including one person per 4 square metres and physical distancing measures of 1.5 metres.

    PREPARATION

    • You MUST maintain attendance records – click here for a copy of MWTA’s Attendance Register
    • A minimum of only one training group per half field
    • Ensure change rooms and showers are NOT used and remain CLOSED
    • Ensure toilets are open and have soap and/or hand sanitiser
    • Arrive 5 mins prior to training dressed ready to train. If arriving early remain in your vehicle until5 mins prior to training. Shower with soap both prior to and post training
    • Parents are only to watch from their vehicle
    • Leave immediately following training – do not congregate – Arrive-Train-Leave
    • Conduct all post training discussions via video link or conference calls
    • NO sharing of water bottles – all MUST be clearly individually labelled
    • Participants are to bring personal hand sanitiser to be used pre, during and post training i.e. schedule sanitiser breaks

Last week the NSW Government announced that kid’s sport can resume across NSW from 1 July, which is great news.

However, NSWTA has advised that following a briefing with the Sports Minister and the NSW Chief Medical officer on Friday 4 June, the return date for adult local social competitions remains unset.

Manly Touch wants to reassure our members we are seeking an indication as to what this date will be as soon as possible.

Hopefully, we may be able to start our Winter Competition after the upcoming school holidays. But as you can appreciate, once an announcement is made on the date for a return to play there is plenty of behind the scenes work that needs to take place first before we can actually take the field, such as a team registration period.

As per our previous announcement, members can return to training, but you need to ensure you follow our ‘Return to Training Guidelines‘.

If you have any further questions please do not hesitate to contact [email protected] or [email protected]

    What You Need To Know

Coronaviruses are a type of virus that can affect humans and animals. Some coronavirus cause illness similar to the common cold and others cause more serious illness, including Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS) and Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS).

All Touch Football participants including players, coaches, match officials, club officials and any other person at the venue are responsible for stopping the spread of the virus. The following guidelines are designed to assist in understanding ways that you can help.

The app has been launched by the Government as part of its plan to slow the spread of COVID-19, and it will help health officials to quickly alert people who may be at risk of having contact with the virus.

The COVIDSafe app is an important initiative in the Government’s plans to slow the spread of the coronavirus, and downloading the app is something you can do to protect you, your family and friends and save the lives of other Australians.

The health and wellbeing of all our participants is of paramount importance to us. We view this as not just an important community health message that you can play a major role in but also an initiative toward getting us back on the park.

The sooner we can stop the spread of COVID-19, the sooner restrictions will be lifted.

The COVIDSafe app is available to download for your smartphone via the  Apple app store or Google Play Store.

Manly Touch are proud to announce a new partnership with Guzman y Gomez (GYG) Manly and Dee Why as the Club’s new water bottle sponsor for the 2020 season.

GYG is an Australian licensed, casual-dining restaurant chain specialising in serving dishes such as burritos, fries, nachos, tacos, and other speciality items.

GYG Manly opened in March 2013 with GYG’s famous FREE burrito days where we gave away 4500 free burritos to the local community in one day! This introduced the Northern Beaches to GYG and through popular demand GYG Dee Why was opened in 2019 within the new Meriton Retail precinct. Both stores are part-owned by the Stephens family, who are part of the Manly Touch Family.

“Guzman y Gomez Manly and Dee Why are excited to be in partnership with Manly Touch and support our sporting community. We can’t wait to see you at one of our venues and look forward to supporting Manly Touch” said GYG Manly and Dee Why part-owner Mrs Leanne Stephens.

“We are extremely proud to see our Guzman y Gomez Manly and Dee Why branding displayed across the off-field T-shirts and water bottles that each representative player is provided with.”

Manly Touch President Ian Kalms thanked Leanne, Hadyn and the Stephens family for their support of our local community-based sport.

“It’s great that Guzman y Gomez Manly and Dee Why have chosen to partner with us and we’re looking forward to representing them proudly both on and off the field,”

The Guzman y Gomez logo will appear on all our Manly Touch water bottles and off-field gear for 2020.

    About Guzman y Gomez

GYG was founded in Newtown in 2006 with the mission of fixing what Australians thought about Mexican food, proving that fast food can be affordable, clean and healthy! GYG’s current ‘CLEAN is the New Healthy’ campaign was 3 years in the making and involved removing all preservatives and additives, that just simply shouldn’t be in the food we eat!

As part of our Halloween Round Manly Touch & Oliver Hire will be hosting our first ever Halloween Disco Party for our U7s and U9s members.

Aside from being a great chance for our young members to have fun dressing up and dancing the afternoon away, all money raised via ticket sales will be donated to our friends at Fight On The Beaches Cancer Research Charity.

To make things easier we are selling ‘Team’ tickets online, which will give you 12 x tickets for $100. So get your team mates, siblings and any other friends and purchase your tickets NOW!

    BUY TICKETS HERE > https://www.eventbrite.com.au/e/manly-touch-halloween-disco-u7-u9-tickets-77074113749

Prizes will be given on the night for “Best Dressed” and “Best Dressed Team”.

So buy your Team tickets here to save disappointment as we know this will “SELL OUT!!!”

    Disclaimer:

As we only have capacity for 120 children in the clubhouse for the event, a maximum of 10 x ‘Team’ tickets will be made available.

If demand for this event is high, Manly Touch reserve the right to make adjustments to the program with the potential of running 2 x separate disco timeframes on the same night.
