Our Junior Summer Touch Football Competition kicks off tomorrow with the U7s and U9s and then Friday for the U11s to U17s.
Please note that like all community sports Manly Touch must operate under the NSW Government Public Health Orders currently in place. Our competition is classified as a COVID-19 safe outdoor public gathering, with a maximum capacity of 1 person per 2 square metres.
This means the following:
- A COVID-19 safe outdoor public gathering requires the organiser to have and implement a COVID-19 Safety Plan for outdoor community sport, which Manly Touch has.
- There is no upper limit to capacity beyond the 1 person per 2 square metres. Which means the 1,000 person limit no longer applies.
- Only fully vaccinated adults (16 years and above), children under 16 years of age, and people with an approved medical contraindication certificate are permitted to attend.
2021 MANLY TOUCH JUNIOR COMP COVID-19 SAFETY PROTOCOLS
To ensure we meet the NSW Public Health Orders, Manly Touch has put the following specific protocols in place so our 2021 Junior Summer Competition is a COVID-19 safe environment to play for our junior members:
Wellbeing of Members and Visitors
- If you feel unwell please stay home and seek medical clearance before returning to Manly Touch.
- All participants, parents/guardians, coaches, managers, spectators aged 16 and over that enter Nolan Reserve and Passmore Reserve must be fully vaccinated or have a medical exemption.
Physical Distancing
- Capacity levels must not exceed 1 person per 2 square metres of space.
- Avoid congestion especially around our Clubhouse and Southern Amenity Building.
- Social distancing measures are always to be maintained, ensuring physical distancing of 1.5m especially when spectating.
- We also request that spectators remain 5m from the sidelines and where possible stand at the end of the field, not along the sideline. The sideline is for the players, coach, and manager.
Hygiene
- Please adopt good hand hygiene practices. Hand sanitiser will be available at Nolan Reserve and Passmore Reserve.
Record Keeping
- All players, coaches, managers, referees, and spectators must check-in at Nolan Reserve or Passmore Reserve using our QR Code via your Service NSW App.
- QR codes can be found on all field flags, Clubhouse, Southern Amenity, Ground Manager’s Desks, and other convenient locations.
- If you are not carrying a phone, please visit one of the Ground Manager’s desks to sign in.
OTHER
Behaviour
- Manly Touch requests that you always show respect to all our kids and referees by keeping your comments positive – remember, our local junior touch football competition is social and about the kids having fun.
- MWTA supports a zero tolerance to abuse of referees. Such behaviour can lead to players, coaches or parents being cited and/or teams losing competition points and, in extreme cases, teams will be removed from the competition.
Local Residents
- Please respect our local neighbours and residents. Do not park across their driveways. NBC Rangers are regularly spotted in the area.
